Acupuncture and dry needling are both forms of treatment using very fine needles. The needles themselves are extremely thin, between 0.1 - 0.2 mm in diameter. Often patients don’t realise when the needles have been inserted, because they are not large enough to stimulate the sensory nerve fibres that register pain.
The acupuncture philosophy describes a complex network of meridians, or lines of energy flow throughout the body.
