Stronger for Life: Small Group Classes Now Running Friday Afternoons

We're excited to introduce Stronger for Life — a new small group program at Strathalbyn Physiotherapy, designed and supervised by our physiotherapists to help you build bone strength, improve mobility and stay strong and independent as you age.

It's exercise the way your physio would want you to do it: structured, supervised, tailored to your goals and run in a small enough group that you actually get individual attention.

Who it's for

Stronger for Life is for adults who want to:

  • Build bone density and reduce their risk of fractures, particularly around perimenopause, menopause and beyond
  • Support menopause health through strength training, movement and education
  • Improve balance, posture and confidence for everyday life
  • Boost overall strength and energy in a safe, structured environment
  • Connect with a supportive community that keeps you motivated to keep showing up

You don't need to be "fit" to start. The whole point of a physio-led program is that we meet you where you are and progress your training from there.

What a class looks like

  • Small groups, max 6–8 people — so we can keep an eye on technique and progress everyone individually
  • Physio led — every program is designed and supervised by one of our physiotherapists
  • Safe and effective — exercises are matched to your goals, history and ability, not to whoever shouts loudest
  • One class a week, 50 minutes, same time every Friday

When and where

  • When: Friday afternoons, 12:00–12:50pm
  • Where: Strathalbyn Physiotherapy, 44 High Street, Strathalbyn
  • Cost: Spaces are limited — call the clinic to confirm pricing, current availability and how to get started

Why physio-led group training is different

A lot of group exercise classes are designed for the average healthy adult. That works for some people, but if you have arthritis, a previous injury, low bone density, pelvic floor concerns, a knee replacement in the last few years, or you're just nervous about getting back into structured exercise, an average class doesn't really fit.

Stronger for Life sits in between one-to-one physio sessions and a generic gym class. You get an individualised program, but you do it alongside other people working towards similar goals. That combination — structured, supervised, social — is one of the most reliable ways we see people stick with strength training long term.

How to book

Spaces are intentionally kept small, so we run on a first-in basis. To check current availability:

If you've been told you should "do more strength training" by your GP, specialist or someone else on your care team — this is a really practical way to start.

Stronger together. Better every day.
